This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal data when you use menyu.co.uk. We have tried to write it the way we write everything: plainly.
menyu is a trading name of Super Manage Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 12907188. Registered office: 14/2g Docklands Business Centre, 10-16 Tiller Road, London E14 8PX. Trading address: 7-15 Greatorex Street, London E1 5NF. For anything in this policy, contact us on 0208 087 4342 or through our contact page.
When you send an enquiry or book a demo through our forms, we collect the details you provide: your name, email address, phone number, restaurant or business name, number of locations, and anything you write in the message field.
For security, our systems process your IP address in a hashed form to limit repeated form submissions, and our hosting provider keeps standard server logs.
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is a single local preference that remembers if you have dismissed our offer banner, and it never leaves your device.
We use your enquiry details to respond to you, arrange and follow up a demo if you have asked for one, and answer your questions. We use security data to protect the website from abuse. We will not add you to a marketing list without your consent, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.
We rely on legitimate interests to respond to enquiries you send us and to keep the website secure, and on consent where you explicitly ask us to contact you. Where we take steps at your request before entering into a contract, we rely on that basis too.
Your enquiry is delivered to us by email using Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES) as our email delivery provider, and the website runs on Cloudways (a DigitalOcean company), our hosting provider. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security commitments. We do not share your details with advertisers or data brokers.
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any follow-up you have asked for, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, after which they are deleted.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to resolve any concern with you first.
menyu builds and operates ordering websites for restaurant clients on their own domains. When you order from a restaurant through one of those sites, the restaurant is the controller of your data and we process it on the restaurant's behalf, as their technology provider. The privacy policy that governs your order is the one published on the restaurant's own website, which is where you should look for details of that processing.
To enable "Order" links on Google Search and Maps for our restaurant clients, we share business listing data with Google: business names, addresses, menus, prices, ordering links, fulfilment times and fees. This is business information rather than personal data in most cases, though for sole traders it can identify an individual, which is why we mention it here.
Restaurant clients can request removal from our Google ordering feed at any time via our removal request page; requests are actioned within 5 business days.
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged clearly on the site.
